Mary River Rockhole Cruise

This is an excellent opportunity to observe crocodiles, wetland birds and fantastic views across the vast Mary River floodplain.

Glide down this vast river system which can triple in size during the wet season; venture into sheltered billabongs and sit in silence and observe nature at its best.

Our experienced guides are accredited and provide fascinating insights into the flora and fauna of the region. This tour departs daily from the Wildman Central Lodge in the morning where you will travel by air-conditioned bus for a short 30-minute drive to the Mary River Rockhole where our boat awaits you.

What's the difference between the Mary River Rockhole Cruise and the Home Billabong Cruise?

The Mary River is a broad, far stretching river system offering expansive views and an abundance of wildlife. It is one of the eight rivers in the Top End which have large floodplains in their catchments.

Both cruises offer their own unique take on the Mary River and catchment areas and are equally spectacular. If you can't decide, you could easily do both, as you will not be disappointed.

The Mary River Rockhole cruise takes 1.5hours not including transfer times, whereas the Home Billabong Cruise takes approximately 1 hour.

Boat cruise tours are open to guests and external visitors. Bookings can be made online or at the lodge. If you are a visitor to the lodge, we prefer 24hours notice prior to your booking, but if you happen to be passing by and would like a last-minute booking don’t hesitate to call us and we will be happy to accommodate you where possible.

If you have a booking, please present to the Wildman Wilderness Lodge reception desk where your tour guide will be waiting for you.

Wildman Wilderness Lodge has bar and restaurant facilities, so why not make a day of it and join us for lunch before or after your excursion.
